Junior QA Tester – Manual Software Testing

Key Responsibilities
- Analyze user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical specs to craft clear test objectives.
- Design, update, and prioritize modular test cases in Zephyr or similar suites.
- Execute exploratory, functional, regression, smoke, and cross-browser tests across web and mobile apps.
- Log reproducible defects with supporting evidence in Jira—screenshots, HAR files, SQL queries.
- Re-test fixes, validate hot-patches, and maintain meticulous test logs for audit readiness.
- Pair with developers during sprint reviews, championing bug prevention through early feedback.
- Support UAT by preparing demo data, walk-through scripts, and rapid issue triage.
- Contribute to continuous improvement retrospectives; suggest tooling or process tweaks.
- Learn REST API inspection via Postman and basic Selenium scripting to broaden your toolkit.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related STEM discipline.
- Foundational grasp of STLC, defect life cycle, and Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
- 6+ months of academic, internship, or freelance experience executing manual tests.
- Working knowledge of SQL for data validation and log analysis.
- Familiarity with Git workflows for branch builds and release notes.
- Exceptional attention to detail—spot subtle UI inconsistencies and data anomalies.
- Concise, audience-aware written communication; you can craft bulletproof bug reports.
- Team spirit: receptive to feedback, proactive in knowledge exchange, comfortable in distributed settings.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Extras (Nice-to-Have)
- Exposure to accessibility testing (WCAG 2.2) or cross-browser tools such as BrowserStack.
- Experience using Postman collections for API smoke tests.
- Fundamental understanding of automated test frameworks—Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
- ISTQB Foundation or equivalent certification.
