Junior QA Analyst – Manual Testing & Defect Tracking
You want to prove your craft in software quality assurance, and we want a detail-obsessed Junior QA Analyst who loves manual testing and crisp defect tracking. This role lets you work on fintech, healthtech, and e-commerce platforms—sometimes from home, sometimes with the team on-site—while sharpening skills that employers search for every day.
About the Role
Systems grow. Features shift. Customers demand perfection. You will keep the products sane by designing thoughtful test approaches, executing repeatable tests, and shouting (politely) when something breaks. Expect to collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and back-end developers within fast-moving Agile sprints.
What You’ll Do
- Analyze user stories and acceptance criteria, extracting clear test conditions.
- Build reproducible test cases in Jira/Xray (or similar suites).
- Execute functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory tests.
- Capture, prioritize, and retest defects inside a modern bug-tracking workflow.
- Maintain test data, automation stubs, and evidence records for auditors and stakeholders.
- Pair with developers to verify hotfixes, release candidates, and production rollbacks.
- Contribute to release notes, risk assessments, and post-mortem reviews.
- Spot trends—then recommend process tweaks that shrink escape rates.
- Guard compliance mandates (HIPAA, PCI DSS, Section 508) across web and mobile apps.
- Champion a culture of continuous quality—metrics, retrospectives, knowledge sharing.
Must-Have Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 0-2 years of hands-on manual testing inside Scrum or Kanban.
- Comfort with SQL queries, REST APIs, and basic JSON debugging.
- Solid grasp of test case management tools (TestRail, Zephyr, or equivalents).
- Clear, concise English communication—spoken and written.
- Analytical mindset; you isolate root causes quickly.
Bonus Points
- Familiarity with Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium for future automation.
- Experience testing cloud microservices on AWS or GCP.
- Understanding of financial or healthcare regulatory landscapes.
- Exposure to accessibility auditing with WCAG guidelines.
- ISTQB Foundation certification.
