Junior HR Operations Specialist

Remotely
Full-time

You will join a people-first organization that prizes accuracy, empathy, and operational rhythm. Acting as a gatekeeper of HR data systems, you will maintain airtight records, streamline workflows, and resolve employee inquiries—often before anyone notices a glitch. Expect daily variety: one moment you are processing new-hire paperwork in Workday, the next you are untangling payroll discrepancies in Excel, and after that you are refining an SOP so tomorrow’s tasks take half the time.

Key Responsibilities

– Enter, audit, and update employee information across HRIS platforms (Workday, BambooHR) with 99.9 % precision.

– Process hires, transfers, terminations, compensation changes, and benefits elections within established SLA windows.

– Monitor federal, state, and local compliance requirements; escalate risk items and propose corrective actions.

– Respond to Tier-1 employee inquiries on policy, pay, and benefits—delivering clear answers within 24 hours.

– Document end-to-end workflows, identify bottlenecks, and draft process improvements that cut cycle time.

– Track operational metrics (error rate, turnaround time, case volume) and surface trends to HR leadership.

– Partner with Payroll, Finance, and IT to reconcile data and ensure seamless downstream integrations.

– Continuously expand proficiency in HR operations tools through sandbox testing, webinars, and peer sessions.

Must-Have Skills

– Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

– 0-2 years of experience in HR operations, shared services, or high-volume data entry.

– Working knowledge of HRIS/ATS platforms; bonus for hands-on time with Workday or BambooHR.

– Intermediate Excel skills (v-lookups, pivot tables) and familiarity with Google Sheets.

– Solid grasp of federal employment law basics (FLSA, EEOC, I-9).

– Impeccable attention to detail—your spreadsheets balance down to the penny.

– Clear written and verbal communication; you translate policy jargon into plain English.

– Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Skills

– Exposure to SQL or BI tools for ad-hoc HR analytics.

– Experience using DocuSign, ServiceNow, or Zendesk for case management.

– Lean or Six Sigma coursework; you enjoy shaving seconds off routine tasks.

– Multilingual fluency that enriches employee support.

Why You’ll Thrive Here

– You will be mentored by senior HR practitioners who remember their own first day.

– Automation projects, process-mapping exercises, and compliance audits ensure continuous learning.

– A remote-first mindset means results matter more than geography—set up your workspace where you perform best.

– Recognition programs celebrate incremental wins: saving ten minutes on a workflow can spark company-wide applause.
