Junior Business Analyst – Entry-Level | Process & Data Insights

Remotely
Full-time

A mid-sized, US-based technology consultancy delivers digital transformation solutions for finance, healthcare, retail, and government clients. The team values curiosity, knowledge-sharing, and measurable impact—providing mentoring, modern toolsets, and clear career pathways.

What You’ll Do

- Map and dissect end-to-end business processes, spotlighting bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.

- Gather and clarify functional and non-functional requirements through interviews, workshops, and surveys.

- Translate raw data into concise dashboards and ad-hoc reports using Excel, SQL, and visualization tools.

- Maintain a living repository of user stories, workflows, and standard operating procedures.

- Track KPIs, create variance analyses, and present actionable insights to cross-functional teams.

- Support Agile ceremonies—backlog grooming, sprint planning, retrospectives—to ensure alignment.

- Collaborate with product owners, engineers, QA, and design to validate solutions before release.

- Continuously evaluate emerging analytics tools and recommend adoption where beneficial.

Must-Have Skills

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

- 0-2 years of experience in business analysis, data analytics, or process documentation (internships count).

- Proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, Power Query, advanced formulas).

- Foundational SQL skills for extracting and joining datasets.

- Familiarity with visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.

- Solid understanding of requirement elicitation techniques and user story writing.

- Analytical mindset, high attention to detail, and strong written communication.

- Adaptable to change, comfortable working in distributed teams, and eager to learn.

Nice-to-Have Extras

- Exposure to BPMN or UML diagramming tools (Lucidchart, Visio).

- Knowledge of Agile frameworks—Scrum, Kanban.

- Experience with collaboration suites like Jira, Confluence, or Notion.

- Basic understanding of Python or R for data manipulation.

- Domain familiarity in finance, healthcare, or e-commerce.

Why This Role Stands Out

You won’t be locked into a single domain. Rotational projects across industries sharpen your analytical versatility. Mentors guide you through certifications (CBAP, Tableau Desktop) while flexible remote arrangements empower work-life harmony. Expect clear feedback loops, rapid responsibility growth, and direct visibility of your impact on clients’ bottom lines—right from day one.
