BI Analyst Trainee – Entry-Level Business Intelligence

What You’ll Do
- Learn and master leading BI platforms (Power BI and Tableau) through hands-on projects.
- Maintain and refresh SQL-based datasets, ensuring data integrity and refresh scheduling.
- Build and iterate basic dashboards that track sales, marketing, and financial KPIs.
- Assist senior analysts in crafting ad-hoc reports for leadership—speed and accuracy matter.
- Explore trends in Google BigQuery and Snowflake; surface anomalies before they become issues.
- Document ETL logic, metrics definitions, and visualization standards for future reuse.
- Partner with product managers, marketers, and engineers to translate questions into data stories.
- Track business metrics daily; alert stakeholders when numbers deviate from plan.
- Participate in sprint ceremonies, propose small process tweaks, and celebrate incremental wins.
What Makes You a Fit
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Statistics, Economics, or related STEM field.
- Solid Excel (pivot tables, lookups) plus foundational SQL (SELECT, JOIN, GROUP BY).
- Intro experience with any BI tool—Tableau Public workbooks or Power BI reports welcome.
- Comfortable explaining charts to non-technical colleagues; clear written English.
- Detail-oriented mindset—you spot missing commas and suspect outliers.
- Eager to learn cloud data warehouses, DAX, and Python for data wrangling.
