Junior Unity Developer – C# Gameplay Programmer

Remotely
Full-time

You step into a Junior Unity Developer seat, writing clean C# gameplay logic while collaborating with artists, designers, and senior engineers across time zones. The role is remote across the United States, ideal for recent Computer Science or Game Design graduates hungry to build production-ready code.

What You’ll Do

- Prototype, implement, and iterate gameplay mechanics in Unity 2022 LTS.

- Integrate 2D/3D art, animations, VFX, and audio assets through prefabs and scriptable objects.

- Write maintainable C# scripts, adhering to SOLID principles and style guidelines.

- Debug runtime issues with the Unity Profiler, Visual Studio, and platform-specific logs.

- Optimize CPU and GPU performance to hit 60 FPS on target devices.

- Create automated unit and component tests with NUnit and Unity Test Framework.

- Sync code through Git, participate in pull-request reviews, and document changes.

- Support sprint reviews, balance playtest feedback, and polish builds for release.

Must-Have Skills

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar.

- 6-12 months of Unity game development (personal, academic, or internship).

- Solid grasp of C# syntax, object-oriented design, and basic maths for gameplay.

- Experience with Git workflows and issue tracking systems.

- Clear written and verbal communication across Slack, Zoom, and Jira.

- Time-management discipline required for fully remote teamwork.

Nice-to-Have Extras

- Familiarity with URP/HDRP pipelines or shader graph.

- Knowledge of multiplayer networking (Mirror or Netcode for GameObjects).

- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions.

- Basic 3D modeling or animation experience in Blender or Maya.

- Passion for accessibility and inclusive game design.

Why You’ll Thrive Here

- Remote-first culture—work from any US location, avoid commutes.

- Small squads mean your code ships to players within weeks, not months.

- Pair-programming sessions with senior engineers accelerate your growth.

- Annual game-jam encourages experimentation and creative risk-taking.
