Junior QA Test Technician

Remotely
Full-time
Part-time

Key Responsibilities

- Execute manual and semi-automated test cases for software and consumer electronics.

- Maintain calibration logs and troubleshoot rigs, oscilloscopes, and IoT test beds.

- Record reproducible defects in a modern bug tracker (Jira, Azure DevOps).

- Verify fixes and run smoke tests before code merges reach production.

- Collaborate with developers on root-cause analysis—pair over Zoom or shoulder-to-shoulder.

- Update test documentation, diagrams, and data sheets with crisp, version-controlled notes.

- Suggest incremental automation in Python or Bash when repetitive tasks appear.

- Champion accuracy and accessibility by checking against WCAG, ISO, and internal standards.

What You Bring

- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Electrical Engineering.

- 0-2 years of QA, lab, or help-desk experience; internships count.

- Working knowledge of Linux or Windows command line.

- Familiarity with at least one scripting language (Python, JavaScript, or PowerShell).

- Comfort reading basic schematics, multimeter output, or log files.

- Sharp attention to detail—spotting a single pixel shift delights you.

- Clear, concise written communication; you translate tech jargon into plain English.

- Ability to prioritize when test matrices grow larger than time allows.

Why You’ll Thrive

Continuous feedback loops, monthly lunch-and-learns, and a certification budget let you level up fast. Rotational exposure to cloud services (AWS, GCP) and popular test frameworks (Playwright, Cypress) prepares you for future automation roles. Remote contributors receive the same career coaching as those on campus—progress is measured by impact, not zip code.
