Role Snapshot
You reinforce product reliability by probing every new feature, documenting clear steps to reproduce issues, and verifying fixes before release. Expect varied domains—payment gateways today, AI-powered chat tomorrow—so adaptability is essential.
Key Responsibilities
– Execute functional, exploratory, smoke, and regression tests across web and mobile applications.
– Draft concise, traceable test cases and maintain living test suites in TestRail or Zephyr.
– Capture defects with screenshots, logs, and severity assessments in Jira—advocating for quick resolution.
– Collaborate with developers during sprint planning to refine acceptance criteria and craft edge-case scenarios.
– Validate API responses with Postman and monitor backend logs via Kibana for data integrity.
– Review automated test results, flag flaky scripts, and pair with SDET mentors to expand automation coverage (Selenium, Cypress).
– Track coverage metrics, update the QA dashboard, and present release readiness status during demos.
– Contribute to continuous integration pipelines—triggering tests in GitHub Actions and analyzing failures.
– Study emerging tools, share insights in QA guild meetings, and champion quality culture across squads.
Required Skills & Knowledge
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related STEM field.
– 0-2 years of hands-on software testing or relevant internship experience.
– Familiarity with SDLC, Agile/Scrum ceremonies, and basic SQL queries.
– Proficient in writing clear test documentation and defect reports.
– Comfortable with browser dev tools, Charles/Fiddler proxies, and REST clients.
– Solid analytical thinking, meticulous attention to detail, and persuasive written communication.
– Eligibility to work in the United States and availability for EST or CST core hours.
Preferred Extras (Nice to Have)
– Exposure to JavaScript, Python, or Java for UI or API test automation.
– Experience testing in cloud environments (AWS, Azure) or containerized setups (Docker, Kubernetes).
– Understanding of accessibility guidelines (WCAG) and performance testing basics with JMeter or k6.
