Junior Manual QA Tester – Entry-Level Quality Assurance Career

Remotely
Full-time

You will execute systematic manual tests to protect product quality across web and mobile applications. As a Junior Manual QA Tester, you create detailed test cases, uncover defects, and collaborate with cross-functional engineers—fostering continuous improvement and user trust.

What You’ll Do

- Draft, update, and prioritize manual test cases in TestRail or Zephyr, aligning them with user stories.

- Execute smoke, functional, regression, and exploratory tests across browsers, devices, and operating systems.

- Identify, isolate, and record defects in Jira—complete with steps to reproduce, screenshots, and video evidence.

- Verify bug fixes in staging, then champion production releases by signing off on quality gates.

- Partner daily with developers, product managers, and UX designers to clarify requirements and refine acceptance criteria.

- Maintain rigorous test logs and metrics—pass rates, defect density, cycle time—to inform sprint retrospectives.

- Support User Acceptance Testing by coaching stakeholders, reproducing edge cases, and safeguarding release deadlines.

- Continuously learn new QA techniques, accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2), and security basics (OWASP Top 10) to elevate coverage.

Tools & Tech

- Test management: TestRail, Zephyr.

- Defect tracking: Jira, Azure DevOps Boards.

- Browsers & devices: Chrome DevTools, BrowserStack, iOS/Android simulators.

What You Bring

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline—or equivalent practical experience.

- 0-2 years of hands-on manual testing within Agile or Scrum teams.

- Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, and the difference between verification and validation.

- Sharp analytical mindset, meticulous attention to detail, and a drive to hunt edge-case defects.

- Clear written and verbal communication—able to translate technical findings into plain language.

- Adaptability when priorities shift; composure under tight release timelines.

- Bonus points for exposure to Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium; API testing with Postman; or basic SQL queries.
