Junior Illustrator
Our multidisciplinary design group builds vibrant visual assets for consumer tech, gaming, education, and retail brands. You’ll partner with senior artists, UX designers, and motion specialists who care about mentorship as much as memorable graphics. Expect rapid feedback loops, agile sprints, and a culture that prizes experimentation.
What You’ll Do
- Produce polished illustrations that follow brand guidelines yet push stylistic boundaries.
- Sketch rough concepts—characters, icons, infographics—and iterate quickly from stakeholder input.
- Convert hand-drawn drafts into crisp, scalable vector files ready for web, mobile, and print.
- Curate and update the internal illustration library—tag files, document usage rights, maintain version control.
- Research design trends, color psychology, and pop-culture cues to inspire fresh visual directions.
- Collaborate daily with product designers, marketers, and engineers to weave imagery into engaging user journeys.
- Present storyboards and mood boards, articulating rationale behind composition, palette, and typography choices.
- Embrace new tools (Generative Fill, Stable Diffusion, Clip Studio Paint) to accelerate ideation and asset delivery.
What Sets You Up for Success
- Bachelor’s degree in Illustration, Graphic Design, or related field.
- 0-2 years’ professional or freelance illustration experience—portfolio required.
- Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and at least one digital drawing tablet.
- Foundational understanding of color theory, perspective, and visual hierarchy.
- Ability to accept critique, iterate swiftly, and meet tight sprint deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication—explain design decisions to non-design partners.
- Curiosity for AI-assisted art workflows, SVG animation, and responsive design constraints.
- Detail orientation; you notice alignment issues, inconsistent stroke weights, and stray anchor points.
Growth Opportunities
From day one you’ll receive one-on-one mentorship, structured skill challenges, and access to paid online courses. Progress toward mid-level Illustrator or branch into character design, UI illustration, even motion graphics—your path, your pace.
How We Collaborate
This is a US-based remote role. Core hours overlap with Eastern Time for daily stand-ups, but you control the remainder of your schedule. We work asynchronously in cloud canvases, Figma files, and Slack huddles—efficiency without micromanagement.
