Junior Helpdesk Administrator – Entry-Level IT Support
You will join a collaborative support group that shields end users from disruption. As a Junior Helpdesk Administrator, you rotate through incident queues, refine knowledge-base articles, and partner with senior engineers to keep systems humming. Remote work is available for candidates able to maintain Eastern or Central time coverage.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor and triage incoming incidents in the service desk portal, ensuring SLA targets are met.
- Diagnose hardware, software, and network issues through phone, chat, and remote desktop tools.
- Maintain Active Directory and Azure AD accounts—password resets, group changes, MFA enrollment, de-provisioning.
- Record accurate, searchable resolutions in the internal wiki to reduce repeat tickets.
- Escalate systemic problems while owning communication with affected users until closure.
- Track daily metrics such as mean time to resolution, first-contact fix rate, and backlog age.
- Contribute to after-action reviews, proposing automation or script-based fixes.
- Study new administration platforms (Intune, Jamf, Freshservice, Splunk) and share findings during weekly stand-ups.
Your Toolkit
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- 0-2 years’ experience in a help desk, desktop support, or customer service setting.
- Proficiency with Windows 11, macOS Ventura, Office 365, and basic Linux terminal commands.
- Familiarity with ticketing suites (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, Zendesk).
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication—able to translate technical terms for non-technical audiences.
- Organized multitasker who thrives under shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
- CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation, or Google IT Support Professional Certificate is a plus, not a must.
Growth Path
You will gain hands-on exposure to automation scripting, endpoint management, and cybersecurity fundamentals. High performers typically progress to Systems Administrator or Site Reliability roles within 18-24 months.
Why You’ll Thrive Here
- Hybrid or fully remote schedule with modern collaboration tools.
- Mentorship from seasoned engineers who value curiosity and experimentation.
- Access to paid training, conferences, and certification vouchers.
- Inclusive culture that recognizes accomplishments and encourages work-life balance.
