Junior CAD Drafter
This entry-level role is your opportunity to apply your skills in 2D drafting and 3D modeling, working with cutting-edge CAD software on impactful projects across various industries. This position can be performed remotely from anywhere within the United States.
Your Impact and Responsibilities
- Develop and prepare precise 2D technical drawings and schematics from rough sketches and specifications provided by senior designers and engineers.
- Construct intricate 3D models and assemblies for visualization, simulation, and analysis using software like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Revit.
- Revise existing drawings and models based on feedback, change orders, and updated project requirements, ensuring all documentation is current.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams—including engineers, architects, and project managers—to resolve design discrepancies and ensure project objectives are met.
- Meticulously maintain and organize the digital library of drafts, models, and project files for easy retrieval and version control.
- Support the creation of comprehensive project documentation, including bills of materials (BOMs), assembly guides, and specification sheets.
- Uphold an unwavering commitment to precision, checking all dimensions, tolerances, and notations for complete accuracy before release.
- Proactively learn and apply industry-specific drafting standards (such as ASME, ANSI, or AIA) and internal best practices.
- Translate complex technical information and measurements into clear, concise, and understandable visual representations for stakeholders.
What You Bring to the Table
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting and Design, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or a related technical field is required.
- Demonstrated proficiency with CAD software is essential; you should be comfortable with at least one major platform like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Revit.
- A foundational understanding of drafting principles, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and technical specifications.
