Junior CAD Designer – AutoCAD & SolidWorks Entry-Level Role

Remotely
Full-time

You’re a detail-obsessed problem-solver who dreams in layers, dimensions, and tolerances. This Junior CAD Designer position places you on real projects from day one, using AutoCAD and SolidWorks to translate concepts into production-ready blueprints. Whether you work remotely or from our studio, you’ll partner with senior engineers, architects, and product managers across manufacturing, construction, and tech.

About the Role

Our multidisciplinary design group converts napkin sketches into manufacturable components, storefront layouts, and immersive virtual mock-ups. You’ll refine drawings, verify measurements, and maintain structured file systems while learning advanced modeling workflows. Expect fast iterations, candid feedback, and opportunities to push your craft into 3D printing, AR visualization, or generative design.

What You’ll Do

– Produce accurate 2D and 3D CAD models, assemblies, and drawings that meet ANSI and ISO standards.

– Revise layouts after design reviews, incorporating structural, mechanical, or aesthetic changes.

– Check dimensions, materials, and fit with calipers, laser scanners, or supplier cut-sheets.

– Coordinate with engineers to resolve interferences, tolerances, and manufacturability issues.

– Maintain organized drawing libraries, revision logs, and metadata for easy retrieval.

– Support BIM or PDM data migration, ensuring naming conventions and version control.

– Contribute to project documentation—bill of materials, exploded views, renderings.

– Continuously refine skills through webinars, certification courses, and peer mentoring.

Must-Have Skills

– Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks; basic parametric modeling, constraints, and assemblies.

– Foundational knowledge of GD&T, orthographic projection, and technical drafting standards.

– Ability to interpret engineering sketches, schematics, and red-lined drawings quickly.

– Sharp attention to detail; you spot a 0.5 mm mismatch instantly.

– Clear written and verbal communication for cross-disciplinary teamwork.

– Time-management and version-control discipline in deadline-driven environments.

Nice-to-Have Extras

– Experience with Revit, Inventor, or Fusion 360.

– Familiarity with VR walkthroughs, Unreal Engine, or Unity for design visualization.

– Exposure to CAM, CNC toolpaths, or additive manufacturing workflows.

– Understanding of LEAN documentation and Six Sigma quality principles.

– Basic Python or VBA for automating repetitive CAD tasks.

Why You’ll Thrive Here

– Real ownership of drawings that ship to fabrication, construction, or game engines.

– Mentorship from licensed engineers and certified SolidWorks Professionals.

– Remote flexibility, modern hardware, and cloud-based PDM keep you productive anywhere.

– Clear progression to Mid-Level Designer or CAD Engineer within 18–24 months.

– A culture that values curiosity, experimentation, and continuous learning because great ideas deserve great execution.
