ey Responsibilities  

- Maintain accurate benefits data in HRIS, carrier portals, and spreadsheets.  

- Process life, health, and disability claims within SLA, verifying documentation and coding.  

- Support annual and off-cycle open enrollment—build plan comparisons, test online elections, draft FAQs.  

- Respond to employee inquiries on coverage, qualifying events, COBRA, and FSA/HSA rules.  

- Reconcile weekly carrier invoices, flag discrepancies, and initiate credits or retro adjustments.  

- Track benefit usage metrics, prepare dashboards, and surface trends to senior analysts.  

- Draft SOPs, change logs, and knowledge-base articles to keep policies current.  

- Partner with payroll, compliance, and talent acquisition to resolve cross-functional issues.  

- Stay abreast of ERISA, ACA, and state mandates, proposing updates to ensure ongoing compliance.  


Must-Have Qualifications  

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.  

- Internship or 6+ months’ experience in HR, benefits, payroll, or customer service.  

- Solid grasp of U.S. employee benefits terminology and enrollment workflows.  

- Skilled with Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables) and familiarity with at least one HRIS or benefits platform.  

- Exceptional attention to detail—you spot a misplaced digit instantly.  

- Clear, professional written and verbal communication; able to translate policy into plain English.  

- Ability to juggle multiple deadlines, remain calm under volume spikes, and prioritize logically.  

- Team mindset—seek feedback, share knowledge, celebrate collective wins.  


Nice-to-Have Extras  

- Exposure to Workday, ADP Workforce Now, BambooHR, or similar systems.  

- Excel modeling or basic SQL for deeper data pulls.  

- Understanding of Section 125 plans, 401(k) administration, or leave management.  

- SHRM-CP or CEBS coursework (completed or in progress).
