Junior AI Model Developer
Artificial intelligence is reshaping every industry—and so can you. As a Junior AI Model Developer, you will use Python, TensorFlow, and PyTorch to craft, train, and fine-tune predictive models that power innovative products across the United States. Our remote-first engineering group pairs real-world datasets with mentorship, giving you the runway to turn academic projects into production-grade solutions.
About the Mission
A stealth-stage tech company backed by US investors is building a cloud-native AI platform that ingests massive multimodal data streams—text, images, audio, and tabular. The team values transparent communication, rigorous experimentation, and shipping software that delights end users.
Your Day-to-Day Impact
- Write clean, idiomatic Python that orchestrates data preprocessing and model training pipelines.
- Train supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement models using TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Evaluate accuracy with metrics such as F1, ROC-AUC, BLEU, and perplexity.
- Debug data and model issues—trace anomalies, profile memory, squash latency bottlenecks.
- Optimize inference speed through quantization, pruning, and vectorized operations.
- Maintain well-structured datasets, version them with Git-LFS, and document lineage.
- Collaborate with senior ML engineers, data scientists, and product designers during agile sprints.
- Package models into RESTful APIs or microservices for seamless integration.
- Contribute to knowledge-sharing sessions and internal wikis.
- Explore emerging techniques—transformers, diffusion models, self-supervision—and propose proofs of concept.
Your Toolkit
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related US program.
- 0–2 years of professional or research experience building machine learning models.
- Proficiency in Python 3.x, NumPy, pandas, and Jupyter notebooks.
- Hands-on exposure to TensorFlow or PyTorch for deep learning.
- Working knowledge of Git, Linux command line, and automated testing.
- Solid grasp of probability, statistics, and linear algebra.
- Clear written and verbal communication—translate complex math into plain English.
- Growth mindset, curiosity, and ability to iterate quickly.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Bonus: AWS, GCP, or Azure fundamentals; Docker or Kubernetes; CI/CD and basic MLOps.
Why You’ll Thrive Here
- Remote-first mindset with flexible US time-zone syncs.
- Dedicated mentor, code reviews, and sponsored Coursera or Udacity courses.
- Impact—your code goes live in weeks, not quarters.
- Inclusive culture that prizes diverse viewpoints and psychological safety.
