Entry-Level Associate QA Analyst | Manual Software Tester
A mid-sized, product-driven company shipping consumer-facing web and mobile applications. Our cross-functional squads value code quality, psychological safety, and continuous improvement. You will collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers who prize clear communication and knowledge sharing.
What You’ll Do
– Analyze functional and non-functional requirements to design concise, risk-based test plans.
– Execute manual test cases on web, API, and mobile layers in staging and production-like environments.
– Log reproducible defect reports in a structured tracking system—complete with steps, evidence, and severity.
– Re-verify fixes, perform smoke tests, and sign off on release candidates under tight sprint timelines.
– Maintain and refactor the regression suite, retiring obsolete scenarios and amplifying coverage.
– Pair with developers to reproduce edge-case issues, triage root causes, and advocate for quality early in the SDLC.
– Capture metrics (pass/fail rate, defect leakage, cycle time) and surface trends to the team.
– Contribute to retrospectives, propose process tweaks, and champion a “shift-left” testing mindset.
Must-Have Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related STEM field.
– 0-2 years of professional software quality assurance experience—or equivalent internship/project work.
– Working knowledge of SDLC models, Agile ceremonies, and defect life cycle.
– Hands-on skill with at least one test management or issue-tracking tool (JIRA, Zephyr, Xray, etc.).
– Familiarity with browser developer tools, Charles/Fiddler, or similar for basic API and network validation.
– Sharp analytical thinking, meticulous attention to detail, and clear written communication.
– Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Nice-to-Have Extras
– Exposure to SQL for data validation.
– Introductory scripting in Python, JavaScript, or Bash.
– Experience testing e-commerce checkout, fintech transactions, or healthcare workflows.
– ISTQB Foundation certification.
Why This Role Stands Out
– Immediate impact—you’ll test features used by millions within your first month.
– Structured mentoring plan paired with a senior QA engineer.
– Choice of modern Mac or Windows laptop, plus a stipend for a second monitor and ergonomic gear.
– Flexible schedule aligned to Eastern or Central Time with no on-call rotations.
– Career ladder that maps growth from junior manual tester to SDET specializing in automation frameworks.
