Junior Risk Analyst

You will absorb best practices, learn proprietary assessment tools, and see how raw data transforms into strategic decisions.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor key risk indicators, update dashboards, and maintain structured risk databases.
- Query datasets in Excel, SQL, and Python to detect anomalies, outliers, and correlation swings.
- Produce weekly risk exposure summaries - charts, narratives, root-cause hypotheses.
- Support senior analysts during scenario analysis, stress tests, and loss-given-default modeling.
- Collaborate with finance partners, translating technical findings into budget impacts.
- Document methodologies, data sources, and control checks for audit readiness.
- Contribute ideas to automate data pulls, report scheduling, and threshold alerts.
- Continuously learn emerging analytics tools - Snowflake, Power BI, Tableau, SAS - as projects demand.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or related field.
- Internship or capstone project involving quantitative data analysis, preferably risk-focused.
- Intermediate Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, Power Query) and familiarity with SQL basics.
- Clear written and verbal communication - you translate numbers into plain English.
- Innate curiosity, strong attention to detail, and comfort juggling multiple deadlines.
- Ability to work independently in a remote-first, synchronous environment.
- Permanent authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Extras
- Exposure to Python (pandas, NumPy) for data wrangling.
- Coursework in probability, financial markets, or enterprise risk management.
- Experience with BI visualization suites (Power BI, Tableau) or cloud data warehouses.
